Wedding Romance

Hi Readers- I have been a little MIA over the last few weeks. Mostly, because I have been reading and working like crazy. Not to worry, I will have reviews up soon. Today, I want to post about a surprise, I received two weeks ago. I was packing for a trip to Washington state for my Valentine’s/Birthday weekend. In the middle of packing I get a knock on the door, and there is the mailman with a box. I saw who it was from and thought, oh, Shannyn must be sending me a pug love package (she’s a pug mom too) or birthday package. What I got was even better!

SURPRISE!! I opened the box and was shocked! She asked me to be in her bridal party for her wedding in 2015! Oooh, I was in shocked and so honored, I was brought to tears knowing I was going to help celebrate her special day. Look at the way she did it! A cute box full of cute things to pop the question–Love that idea!

Shannyn and I go back, way back. I’ve known her since she was 12 (me 17). We belonged to a service organization for young women (she has called it “My Colorful Life” and I will too). We grew up together. We went through some happy and sad times. I’ve watched her become one of the most inspiring women this world has to offer. Shannyn’s determination to succeed in all that she does is catching, and you cannot help but want to be like her. I’ve always wanted to be like her.

This bride and groom are planning on funding the wedding themselves. They have set a goal of saving $20K for their wedding. I believe they will reach this goal and probably exceed it.

Shannyn and Chris (the fiance) have a romantic story that has spanned miles and years. I am honored and look forward to helping them create their perfect wedding and the start of their happily ever after.

My Newest Reading Obsession

I have been quiet for a week due to a terrible head cold, but do you think I was able to put down my trusty Kindle? NOPE, not a chance. I have been obsessed with reading the Cut and Run series by Abigail Roux and Madeline Urban. Holy Book Hotness, I am clearly addicted to this series and characters. I can thank my friend Nancy over at Rakes, Rogues and Romance for virtually twisting my arm to read this series.

This series is about two FBI Agents, Ty Grady and Zane Garrett, who are thrown together as partners, and aren’t exactly thrilled. They are put on cases to solve and in the process fall in love with one another, but it’s not an easy romance. There are deep dark secrets they both hide from one another, and it’s anything but easy. The romance is fabulous the dialogue is spectacular and all the wonderful secondary characters (some how spun off stories- so amazing) add so much depth to this series. If you are not a fan of m/m romance that’s ok, I still encourage you to read this series. It’s not all about romance as there are crimes that need to be solved. I promise you will love it and become obsessed. Bonus, Abigail Roux is great interacting with her fans!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The best part is this just keeps going and going; Abigail Roux is currently writing more books in this series. There are websites dedicated to Ty & Zane. I have found called The Interrogation Room on Tumblr. It’s 350+ pages where the characters from this series answers questions from readers. How amazing is that?

My Thoughts: This is the second book I have read by Danelle Harmon, and I’m hooked on her writing. Captain Brendan Merrick is one swoon worthy hero. He is lucky as the day is long and a real charmer. I love how he has faith in himself and crew. He also trusts with his complete heart. Everything about Brendan makes my heart go pitter-patter. He is a daredevil when the moment calls for it and tender and loving in the next. Brendan is a great friend and person. You can’t help but fall for him with his sense of honor and humor. He truly is a hero.

Mira Ashton is exactly how I would like to picture young women from America’s early days. She is a straight shooter that doesn’t let anything get past her. What drives her fierceness is her compassion. Mira has a caring soul. She does not like seeing people or animals hurt, and she does just about anything to help them. Mira loves with her whole heart and when she decides to love Brendan nothing can keep her from him.

This story has all the elements I love in a historical romance; action, humor, love, compassion, heartache and so much more. I love all the secondary characters and side stories happening during the story. Ms. Harmon knows how to deliver a fantastic romantic story. I have determined that whatever you read from Danelle Harmon will be spectacular.
