Books I must GRAB this week!

Hi Readers,

There are a couple of books I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this week.

91Pn+MgqeeL._SL1500_How to Lose a Duke in Ten Day by Laura Lee Guhrke
Official Blurb: From the moment she met the devil-may-care Duke of Margrave, Edie knew he could change her life. And when he agreed to her outrageous proposal of a marriage of convenience, she was transformed from ruined American heiress to English duchess. Five years later, she’s delighted with their arrangement, especially since her husband is living on another continent.

But deals are made to be broken . . .

By marrying an heiress, Stuart was able to pay his family’s enormous debts, and Edie’s terms that he leave England forever seemed a small price to pay. But when a brush with death impels him home, he decides it’s time for a real marriage with his luscious American bride, and he proposes a bold new bargain: ten days to win her willing kiss. But is ten days enough to win her heart?

915NLJxM-xL._SL1500_Never Courted, Suddenly Wed by Christi Caldwell

Official Blurb: Christopher Ansley, Earl of Waxham, has constructed a perfect image for the ton–the ladies love him and his company is desired by all. Only two people know the truth about Waxham’s secret. Unfortunately, one of them is Miss Sophie Winters.

Sophie Winters has known Christopher since she was in leading strings. As children, they delighted in tormenting each other. Now at one and twenty, she still has a tendency to find herself in scrapes, and her marital prospects are slim.

When his father threatens to expose his shame to the ton, unless he weds Sophie for her dowry, Christopher concocts a plan to remain a bachelor. What he didn’t plan on, was falling in love with the lively, impetuous Sophie. As secrets are exposed, will Christopher’s love be enough when she discovers his role in his father’s scheme?

Blog Tour: A NUMBERS GAME by Tracy Solheim

Hi Readers- Tracy is giving away a $25 Amazon or B&N gift card  to one random commenter during the tour. Please your email in the comments!

Love is worth more than the sum of its hearts…

A-Numbers-Game-high-resCPA Merrit Callahan learned early not to let passion unravel her orderly life. Back in college she fell hard for a football player, only to be devastated when she discovered he’d been duping her all along—dared by his teammates to score with his bookish tutor. Now, after her back-stabbing fiancé breaks off their engagement, Merrit flees to Baltimore to escape the fallout.

After eight years in the pros, a series of concussions have forced Heath Gibson out of the NFL. The transition from player to coach for the Baltimore Blaze hasn’t been smooth, but finding himself face-to-face with Merrit Callahan makes the ride even rockier. He’s been filled with regret ever since a stupid team prank caused Merrit to run away from him a decade earlier.

Merrit’s stunned to reconnect with Heath. And despite the authenticity of his reignited feelings this time around, Merrit’s got her mind set on payback. She’ll give Heath a night he won’t forget and then walk away. But Heath’s hold on her heart—and the rest of her body—is difficult to break…

EXCERPT: “Invite me inside, Merrit.”
The heat in his demand coursed through her body making her ache at her core.
“I’ve changed my mind,” she whispered. “I don’t think that’s such a good idea.”
He was up on his feet in one fluid move, inches now separating their bodies. She could feel the tension radiating off him, pinning her to the wooden post. He traced a finger—still damp from where he’d held the beer bottle—along her jaw. Merrit swallowed a moan.
“Changed your mind about what, Merry?” His breath licked at her skin making her body quiver. “About hearing me out? Or about something else?”

unnamed-2Author Bio:
Author Tracy Solheim has written her share of best sellers and note-worthy books. Unfortunately most of them line the shelves of dusty government offices around the world never to see the light of day. She hopes to change that with her series of contemporary romantic fiction novels published by Berkley Books.

“I guess you could say I’m a frustrated sports writer at heart, but I love writing—and reading—books centered around sports. I can thank my dad for that. He introduced me to Dick Francis novels when I was a teenager and I was hooked. I am also a big fan of the happily ever after endings of romance novels, so it was only natural that I combined the two elements in my fiction debut.”

Review: Dancing With A Devil by Julie Johnstone

Official Blurb: A Lord Chained To His Past…
Lord Trent Rutherford’s past has left him guarded, jaded and perfectly content to spend the rest of his life moving from one meaningless affair to the next. Until he meets Lady Audrey Cringlewood, an innocent beauty who makes him question everything he believes. His devilish demeanor guards more than a wounded heart. Behind his swagger lie secrets he’d rather forget than face, but the price of forgetting may be his second chance at life.

A Lady Determined To Shape Her Future…
Audrey Cringlewood longs to marry for love, not convenience. After several months of flirtatious banter, secret smiles and three very unforgettable kisses, Trent Rutherford, the rake known as Sin, proves himself the man of her dreams. Audrey suspects she understands the pain he hides behind his devil may care attitude, but when the truth comes to light, is her love enough to heal all wounds or will the secrets Trent guarded so carefully tear them apart forever?

21461012My Thoughts: Dancing With A Devil was not the typical Regency romance. Yes, it had many elements that are Regency but it was not the cookie cutter Duke meets wallflower and falls in love. Nope, the hero and heroine of this Regency have strong personalities and own thoughts about love and marriage.

From the opening pages of the book Lady Audrey is not a simpering miss. She is determined to have the life she craves. She is outspoken and honest. Audrey is a young lady determined to make the most of life and she is willing to overcome obstacles that may be in her way. Oh and the obstacles come in the form of her father and brother.

Widower, Lord Trent Rutherford like his ladies willing, wanting and experienced. No virginal ladies for him but when Lady Audrey puts him under her spell she is the only thing he will ever want. However, Trent’s wife who has been dead may not be so dead and puts a kink into claiming Lady Audrey.

Dancing With A Devil had many wonderful elements. I was laughing with how honest Audrey was when talking with her peers and in other moments my heart was breaking for Audrey and Trent. There are twist and turns in this story that you don’t see coming, which adds to the charm of the book. This story has a wonderful cast of characters that make it unforgettable.

Release Blitz: ABSOLUTE SURRENDER by Jenn LeBlanc

Today we’re excited to share Jenn LeBlanc’s newest illustrated romance, ABSOLUTE SURRENDER. This book, like THE RAKE AND THE RECLUSE: Redux, has gorgeous images to enhance the story.

Meet Jenn:

Colorado. Canon. Curls. CJs. Chuck Norris.

Born and raised in this beautiful state —very nearly with a camera in hand— I never left. I started my own family, got used to the curls, went to college, built a CJ, started a business, and totally beat the daylights out of Chuck Norris, all with a camera in hand.

Spending my days in parenting chat rooms I got highly adept with one-handed typing and I can still type just about as fast with one hand as I can with two. It’s a great talent to have when engrossed in a scene and in need of a hit of caffeine. Once I finished my first novel I quickly realized: I was born a photographer.

From the realization that someone ELSE would be shooting the cover of MY book my control-freak took over. What started as an easy cover shoot ballooned into this completely new kind of media, designed specifically for digital book readers. The Illustrated Romance.

I live and thrive off chaos and the constant flow of the creative process. I wears shorts and flip-flops year-round —much to the chagrin of my friends and family.

The images from my book started a ruckus, and from there, #StudioSmexy was born, I’ve since shot over 300 romance novel covers, and currently shoot custom images for very special clients.

My first novel THE RAKE AND THE RECLUSE: REDUX is doing its own Chuck Norris impersonation with the time travel charts on Amazon, where it took up residence for over a year. You can find me on Twitter and Facebook sharing eye candy (NSFW) and being a total rock star.

EXCERPT“Who painted all of the new additions in the room?” she finally asked. “I did,” he offered from behind, his low voice surprisingly close. Too close. She turned and stumbled toward him, realizing his boots were standing on the hem of her gown. “What—” His large hands jumped to her corseted waist as he stepped off the hem. “Forgive me.” Tightening his hold on the curve of her waist, he lowered his head to hers. “I was admiring your perfume. It’s…” He searched her face, his mouth softening. “How are you?” He lingered, his large hands skimming and then tightening on her waist. He heatedly lowered his gaze to her lips. He leaned in closer, the scent of freshly starched linen and his hair tonic piercing the air between them.  She froze, fully aware that his arms were not only drawing her body against his own muscled frame but that his rugged face was hovering above her own face. His lips edged down toward hers. The scent of spiced ginger from his mouth now teased the remaining space between them.   Heaven forbid he unleash what he was holding in and kiss her. She’d be pregnant in a day. She slapped both hands over her mouth, bumping his arms and kept her palms firmly and rigidly in place. So he had no access to her lips. At all. He stilled, the heat of his mouth grazing her forehead. “Are you trying to be adorable?” he rasped. “Or is this your way of telling me you’re not interested?”

About Delilah Marvelle: Delilah Marvelle is the winner of the Reviewer’s Choice for Best Sensual Historical Romance of the Year and had Booklist name her historical romance ‘Forever and a Day’ one of the TOP 10 Romances of the year. When she isn’t writing, she’s digging through inappropriate research books that include anything in history having to do with courtesans, brothels, sexual contraptions that were never properly used and other fascinating forms of dirty history that never made it into college textbooks. Night of Pleasure (final) @ 2700 high resAbout NIGHT OF PLEASURE: An arranged marriage is daunting, but not as daunting as seducing a spouse whose passions you do not understand… Derek Charles Holbrook, Viscount Banfield, knew his fate since he was seventeen when his father announced his union to the beautiful but mysterious American girl by the name of Miss Grey. To protect the troubled estate, Derek submits to his father’s wishes, not realizing he’s about to entangle himself in a hell of a lot more than marriage. Miss Clementine Henrietta Grey may be worth millions, but not a single coin has ever bought her a smidge of happiness. When she marries the charasmatic and dashing Viscount Banfield, whose only strife in life appears to be the uneven seams in his coat, she finds that siring the heir he wants requires far more than her heart is prepared to give. Unable to seduce his overly-serious and reluctant wife, Derek realizes his dreams of creating a loving family has turned into a nightmare. But with the unexpected assistance of a retired courtesan and her outrageous school, Derek and Clementine discover that passion is a language spoken not just from the body, but from the mind, heart and soul.

My Thoughts:

I typically don’t fall for the hero in the first chapter but I totally fell for Dereck in chapter one. The moment he brought out his tin full of ginger drops, I was hooked. He truly is a sweetheart from the first pages to the last pages. Don’t get me wrong he isn’t perfect but he is the guy you want your daughter to fall in love with and marry. Truly a prince charming. Now, I know what you’re thinking, easy, typical prince charming the heroine is so damaged that he fixes her and they live happily ever after. Well, eh, no, not exactly. Do they have a happily ever after? It’s a Delilah Mavelle book, what do you think? BUT like Ms. Marvelle’s books she has some very entertaining twist and turns that I will not elaborate about but they will make you enjoy the book even more.

The heroine, Clementine is a girl I can identify with on so many levels. How can you not like when an American crosses the Atlantic with  her own opinions about life? She really gives Derek a run for his money but when we see the layers come off Celmentine you’ll want to hug the girl. She is very strong but even the strongest woman needs a hug. I love that Ms. Marvelle changes the rolls a bit in this story. The heroine is a bit standoffish and the hero is all about love and devotion. It’s a good twist and I enjoyed it. This book is a book you won’t want to put down. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the end.
