A Taylor-Made Love, Book Two Taylor-Made Series

Contemporary New Adult
by Kary Rader

TaylorMadeLogline: When twenty-year-old widow Taylor Smith-Taylor falls hard for her attorney Brad Richards, her life and her company—the one she promised her late husband to never let fail—fall to pieces, and she must choose between the past she’s promised to keep and the woman she wants to become.
When fate spares your life, your destiny is always love

Twenty-year-old widow and cancer survivor Taylor Smith-Taylor is running her late husband’s billion-dollar gaming business because she’s made a vow to keep TME—and Gavin’s memory—alive. But she’s falling hard for her sexy attorney Brad Richards, and it’s not just their professional connection that has her tied in knots.
When Taylor’s new idea takes off, she relies on Brad to help. Using company funds to back the innovative project, they begin a tumultuous affair and a multi-million dollar negotiation that could dominate the market or put the company in jeopardy.
As the corporate dealings escalate, their volatile relationship leaves their priorities more tangled than their bed sheets, and a fatal accounting error divides them, putting the company on the brink of bankruptcy. Brad pushes Taylor to embrace her idea, and him, by selling TME—a decision that, for her, goes deeper than money. When she refuses, it seems easier for both to walk away, and only a perspective from the grave can help her realize her future comes down to one choice: the love she’ll lose or the love she’ll make.

About A Taylor-Made Life – BOOK 1

You can read my review HERE.
WINNER of the 2014 RomCon Reader’s Choice Award
FINALIST in the 2015 EPIC (Electronic Publishing Industry Coalition) eBook Awards

Seven years ago while I was pregnant with my youngest child, my husband was diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma cancer. He went through surgery, chemo and was pronounced cancer-free two weeks before my son Brady was born. I never dealt with those emotions I experienced while he was sick. There wasn’t time. But three years ago when a friend’s daughter was diagnosed with cancer, all of them came flooding back. As a result, I wrote A Taylor-Made Life.

A Taylor-Made Life became an Amazon Bestseller and I’ve received letters from all over the world (e.g.UK, France, Uganda) saying how the story has touched hearts. It has a 4.21 Goodreads average with over 400 ratings and recently won the 2014 RomCon Reader’s Choice Award. The story is a finalist in the 2015 Electroinc Publishing Industy Coalition’s (EPIC) eBook Award. ATML also won several RWA chapter contests. It continues to touch people with its special message.

“A Taylor-Made Life is one of the best books I’ve read this year and it’s not one I’ll soon forget… Taylor and Gavin stole my heart and my breath, and I wasn’t ready to let them go.” – Nikki Barrett, Storm Goddess Book Reviews

“Beautifully written, and I would dare anyone not to cry….. Gavin and Taylor have such depth and emotion, it’s hard not to fall in love with them. These two characters will remain in my memory forever.” – Melissa Limoges, Insert Clever Quip Here Book Reviews

“6 Stars, 2 full boxes of Kleenex…Beautiful!” – a.c. Mason, bestselling author

“Kary Rader is a wonderful new voice in New Adult fiction. Taylor-Made is a must-read.”– Jill Limber, author and editor, Boroughs Publishing Group

Cover Reveal: Losing an Edge by Catherine Gayle

Blurb: In any other family, Levi “501” Babcock would have been the
golden boy. Instead, he’s lived his entire life in the shadow of his
almost-perfect older brother. They both play for the NHL’s Portland Storm, but
Levi is tired of being the second-best Babcock brother. He’s determined to find
at least one thing he can do better. He thinks he’s found it when Cadence
Johnson, Canada’s darling at the last Olympic Games, shows up in Portland; he’s
going to land a girlfriend who’s more famous than his brother’s Hollywood-starlet
wife. Gold medals don’t mean much when every day is a living nightmare. Figure
skater Cadence Johnson just did the unthinkable; she left her partner and her
coach, and she’s starting over from scratch. New partner. New coach. New
choreographer. New hair color. New city. She’s looking forward, not behind,
keeping her secrets firmly locked up tight. Her bubbly personality and
perpetual smiles conceal a world of hurt she can’t let anyone see. After Levi
charms his way into Cadence’s life, hope that it’s all been laid to rest blooms
within her. But even the darkest of secrets eventually seek the light. Soon,
Levi comes to realize that life with Cadence might not be all sunshine and
roses, and attraction isn’t going to be enough to her. Now being the man she
needs in her life seems a lot more important than finally besting his brother,
but with every step, he feels like he’s Losing an Edge.

Blurb: Growing up poor with a mother who would do anything—even
sell her body—to help him get ahead in life had a profound impact on Ray
“Razor” Chambers. Now he’s a defenseman for the NHL’s Tulsa Thunderbirds, which
allows him the means to make sure his mother never needs to do anything like
that again. He’s in Vegas because his best buddy is about to get hitched, but
not before Razor and the guys throw him a bachelor party. Viktoriya Dubrovskaya
had been studying ballet in California, but money is tight and there’s no help
coming from home in Russia. She started out making some extra money as a dancer

have paid her well, but it stripped her of everything she was and all she
wanted. She’s left the business behind, but too late. Now she’s out of time,
money, and options. In desperation, Viktoriya makes herself available to Razor
on the casino floor. There’s no chance he’ll take her up on what she’s selling,
but he offers a counter-proposal—one involving a ring, a green card, and the
chance to reclaim her body. It’s an opportunity she can’t pass up. For
Viktoriya and Razor, learning to live together as husband and wife is as
foreign as interpreting Smoke Signals, but where there’s smoke, there’s usually
fire.

Book Review: COMEBACK by Catherine Gayle (Portland Storm 6)

Blurb: Nicklas Ericsson is an addict. He’s also a star goaltender with the NHL’s Portland Storm, or he was until his addiction changed everything. Now he’s throwing himself into doing all the necessary things to pave his path to a comeback, both in his personal life and on the ice. Nicky’s run out of options, and now his sister and her children are in Portland. They need help he has no clue how to provide, though, and figuring it out might derail all the progress he’s made.

For a few years now, Jessica Lynch has been running the Portland office for the Light the Lamp Foundation. Between her work and several people from her past, she knows more than she’d like about addicts. One lesson she’s learned is that even when addicts try to turn their lives around, more often than not, they fail. That’s why she takes a hands off approach, keeping her heart well away from the addicts she works with, like Nicky Ericsson.

ComebackNicky’s recovery efforts put him directly in Jessica’s path, and she can’t ignore his very real need for help. Where Nicky is concerned, she can’t separate her emotions. His niece and nephews further complicate her efforts to guard her heart. The attraction between Nicky and Jessica is instant and mutual, but she’s misplaced her trust too many times before. Can he prove that he won’t fall back into old habits in time to complete the perfect comeback?

Thoughts: I become giddy with excitement when I see a new book from Catherine Gayle’s Portland Storm Series. I honestly do not know how Ms. Gayle does it but book after book she keeps bringing it and I loved this book more than the last. Which is crazy because I think she can’t top it and she always does!

You’ll need your tissues when reading this book and you’ll need them from nearly the beginning. You’ve been warned. I cried reading this and not the pretty cry (I don’t have a pretty cry) but the ugly go hide in your room becuase you don’t want your husband to see you cry. I adore Ms. Gayle voice as she is pushing the limit and talking about real issues that many people can relate to. Also, the hockey component is awesome. When you get down to it the romance is sweet and wonderful.

If you have not noticed by now I LOVE this series.

You can find the whole series on Amazon!

What Have I Been Reading

Hi Readers- My post have been few and far between lately. It is not because I am not reading. I am working outside the house and that takes a lot more of my free time. I wanted to catch up and let you know what I’ve read in the last few weeks.

Historical Romance

Rules for a proper governess 1. Rules For A Proper Governess by Jennifer Ashley
I just finished finished this one over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. My favorite thing about this read was it wasn’t about a peer and a wallflower. It was about a barrister and a thief. For all you Ian Mackenzie fans he does makes an appearance (as do all the other Mackenzie’s).

always true to her

 2. Always True to Her by Maureen Driscoll
I enjoyed the story and characters of this book. Ms. Driscoll has a way of bringing you into a family that you never want to leave. She did with the Kellington’s and now she is doing it with the Emerson’s. James and Irene are a great couple and little Anna just steals your heart. I enjoyed the plot and character development.

The Suffragette Scandal 3. The Suffragette Scandal by Courtney Milan
This was an unforgettable read. Ms. Milan keeps breaking the mold and creating stories that are fresh and new. I love the take Free has on the world and how she make a difference. She knows it may not be the biggest difference today but it could be tomorrow. What a strong message to say. It was just a great read with a hot romance. There is a side story that I felt relayed a strong message as well.

Contemporary Romance

Seduction and Snacks 1. Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec
Holy Buckets of Laughter was what this book was about. Actually not just this book but the whole Chocolate Lovers Series. I have never laughed so hard while reading a book. This is a book that is really fun to read because of all the laughing you’ll do. It’s very open, real and raw about sex.
*I spent the better part of my summer reading these books. So fun!

Beneath It All 2. Beneath It All by Tori Madison
Being October and Breast Cancer Awareness month (it should be every month like all cancers and diseases) I wanted to make sure I pointed out this book. This book is about a young woman (my age!) finding out she has breast cancer and the toll it has on her marriage. This is a great read. It’s still a romance but with a very important message. This read made me think about my own life and marriage.

The Matchbaker 3. The Matchbaker by Jerrica Knight-Catania
This was an easy book to read and enjoy. The family dynamic is great and the twist of magic is fun. I am looking forward to more in this series.

Happy Reading!

Blog Tour & *GIVEAWAY*: MORE THAN THE MONEY (Heartlands # 3) by Kris Pearson

MTTMBanner.png.jpg

Hi Readers! I am giving away an ebook copy of this book. Please leave email in comments!

Book Blurb: Exiled from his family for half his life, hard-living cowboy Rory Morrissey finally quits Texas and embarks on a desperate and delicate mission: to return to New Zealand, convince shy Kiwi heiress.

Alfrieda Hamlin to marry him, and earn a fresh start, respectability, and one hell of a farm.
Alfie might be shy but she’s no pushover. When she learns about the succession deal being hatched between her autocratic grandfather and the handsome Texan stud, she rebels. There’s no way she’ll stand by and have her expected inheritance and freedom stolen away, so with only one month to outwit the scheming duo, she throws caution to the wind and snuggles up to the man she’s been ordered to marry. After all, she needs to know her enemy if she expects to beat him at his own game.

Warning: Contains one hunky cowboy determined to ride down his heiress, hog-tie her, and bundle her into his bed.

MTTM COVEREXCERPT: After spending the next morning forced to show Rory around the beautiful estate, Alfie drives him back into the city in one of the farm trucks to collect the rest of his belongings. Here’s

part of what happens along the way:

…………………………………………………………………………………………………

The cowboy moved in his seat, distracting her from such doleful thoughts. “Old

Alfred can’t live forever.” His tone was more conciliatory now. “We can wait him out.

Marry me right away and make the place ours. Secure the estate before he changes his mind,

and then we can sort it out between us.”

She shook her head vehemently.

Again he laughed. The same humourless sound. “You’re not my idea of a wife, Alfie.

I doubt I’m your idea of a husband.”

She swallowed in surprise.

He locked his gaze with hers. So magnetic. So persuasive. “Wait the old devil out.

It’d serve him right. We can put on the expected show, but we don’t have to consummate the

marriage. No-one will know but us.”

She shook her head again.

“Although,” he murmured, eyes now dancing with challenge, “We could probably

enjoy ourselves if we put our minds to it.”

Alfie began to object, and at that instant he loosened his seatbelt with his free hand,

leaned across, cradled her face, and settled his lips on hers. He tasted rich and dark, and it

took her several seconds of unhinged shock before she gathered her wits enough to thump

a fist against his chest. “We could probably,” he murmured against her mouth, “enjoy

ourselves very much.”

Rory felt her struggling and reared back. Jesus! He’d grabbed her like some lust-
soaked teenager. What was he? Sixteen and desperate? He slumped into his seat, breathing

hard, searching for appropriate words to apologise with.

“Don’t do that again,” she said in a small voice.

“Hell, darlin’, I didn’t mean to do it that time.” He flinched at the flippant comment

that had burst from his stupid mouth. How would he get past this? “I’m sorry,” he added.

“Didn’t mean to grab you. You…attract me.” He shook his head. “Did I just make it worse?”

“Probably.” She touched her mouth with her fingers as though she was searching for

damage.

“Did I hurt you?”

She stared at him, pupils so huge and black that her eyes had none of their vivid

colour left. “No, of course not. Just surprised me.”

After a few seconds she asked, “I…attract you? Really?”

He watched her fingers running to and fro along her soft bottom lip, wanting to

replace them with his own. Wanting even more to replace them with his mouth again. He

reached a tentative hand out and then pulled it back. “For sure. How could you not? And I’m

not meaning the farm. You’re…”

“I’m what?”

He shook his head. Was he really having this conversation? “You’re not what I

expected. Last night I presumed you were a spoiled princess. You wouldn’t talk to me over

drinks. I thought you were freezing me out.”

He watched as she covered her mouth with her hand and shook her head.

“And then I found Alfred hadn’t given you any warning about why I was there, and

you stood your ground with him in the dining room and I admired you.”

Her hand dropped away. Her eyes were still huge. “Admired me?”

“For telling him what you thought of him. Even if it made him damn difficult

company for me after that.”

The corners of her mouth twitched briefly. “Was he angry?”

“Fuming, but trying not to show it because he wanted me on his side.”

“Poor you.” She was definitely trying to stifle a smile now.

The bands of embarrassment choking his chest loosened a little.

A dimple indented one of her cheeks and then disappeared. “So I attract you because

I’m brave? Not very. That doesn’t make me sound much fun anyway.”

Rory ran his hands through his hair and stared at her. “Geez, honey, are you

determined to drag it from me? I came here expecting to find some unmarriageable mess of

a woman and instead I got presented with you. So pretty I can’t keep my hands to myself. So

female you make me hard in seconds. So in need of looking after that I’d walk over white-hot

coals to keep you safe. Okay?”

He heard the snick as she unlatched her seatbelt, and then his breathing stopped as

she wriggled up into a kneeling position. Was she going to smack him one? He clutched the

fabric of his jeans so he couldn’t make another grab for her.

One of her hands gripped the back of the seat for balance. The other reached over and

touched his hair, smoothing it where he’d no doubt mussed it up seconds earlier. He tilted his

head to find her eyes, totally beguiled by her unexpected reaction, determined not to spook

her again.

“Thank you,” she whispered, her fingers moving lower to trace over his eyebrow and

around the edge of his ear. Slow and dreamy. Exploring him like a piece of sculpture. “That

makes things feel different.”

Somehow he held still. Her short nails ran down the side of his face, then reversed to

push against the grain of his beard. “Whiskers,” she murmured. “You poor thing having to

shave them all the time.”

He wanted to laugh but didn’t dare. “Comes with being a man.” He needed to clear

his throat and didn’t dare do that either in case it spoiled the moment.

“Hmmm.” A soft murmur of agreement.

Finally he couldn’t take any more of her gentle torture. “So do I pass the test?”

“What test?” Her fingers trailed lower again.

“Whatever you’re…” He fell silent as she touched the corner of his mouth. Ran her

feather-light finger over his cupid’s bow and around the rest. His hands clenched tighter

into the denim, and his heart threatened to burst out of his burning ribcage. He gulped a fast

breath.

She shifted on the seat, leaning closer. “Yes, you pass the test. You’re so lovely you’d

pass any test.” She bit her bottom lip and visibly swallowed. “Can you kiss me again please?

I wasn’t ready last time.”

Alfie’s voice quavered as she spoke the last words. Who was kneeling and begging

now?

Her. Absolutely her.

Kneeling on her seat, begging to be kissed.

Would he do it? If he didn’t she’d die of embarrassment.

She watched as his big hands relaxed their death-grip on his jeans. As he took another

deep breath. As he turned in his seat and touched her face, sliding around her jaw to cradle it.

No words. Simply the sensation of those long fingers smoothing over her skin, and his eyes

burning into hers with fierce intensity.

Utterly crazy. How had they gone from open animosity to teasing, then through

another full-on argument to declarations of tender regard and into a kiss hot enough to scorch

her soul?

“Ah, honey…” he whispered, rubbing his mouth over hers so softly she was barely

sure they’d connected. A butterfly brush. A sensation as warm as tropic air. Lips dragging

gently past each other. Back and forth. Maddening.

She made a noise of some kind. A wanting noise. A needing noise. Because yes, she

needed. Needed to touch him and taste him. Wanted more of him than this. Ohhhhh….

She raised her hand again…caressed his jaw, and it was enough. He parted his lips

on an indrawn breath, settled them over her lower one and sucked for an instant, then moved

up to do the same to the upper. All her nerve endings there flickered, and she moaned with

delight, not knowing her fingers had flexed greedily against his skin. Rory’s hand tightened

too, pulling her face against his as her lips parted. Holding her where he wanted her. Angling

his mouth over hers, lifting and lowering, dragging in air between each dizzying descent until

they were both panting, both open-mouthed, tongues sliding together, groaning, frantic.

Alfie yearned to be closer still. Wanted to be pressed against his body, enclosed by

his arms they way she’d been that morning. She struggled to turn, perched as she was on her

knees on the seat.

“Easy darlin’,” he warned as she tipped off balance. He grabbed her in both hands,

strong enough to support her weight and tilt her so she sprawled, unharmed, head in his lap.

She gazed up at him, gasping, ripped away from the kiss that had stolen her brain.

He laughed—a deep joyous rumble that she felt as well as heard, pressed as she now

was against something really hard in his groin. A long firm rod that thrilled and scared her

equally.

“You okay?” he asked, loosening the hand trapped between them so he could stroke

her face.

She nodded mutely, which gave her a little more information about what she’d landed

against. Oh goodness…

He grinned down at her. “I didn’t picture our first kiss happening in a farm truck on

the main road,” he said. “We do have a hotel room to use if you’re so insatiable?” One dark

brow rose.

Alfie opened her mouth to object, and then relaxed again when she realised he was

teasing. “Not insatiable at all. And anyway, you started it.”

“True, darlin’. Provoked beyond reason. ” He stroked her hair. “Not even a little bit

insatiable?” he asked hopefully.

She shifted on the seat and eased a leg up onto the steering wheel, then remembered

too late that she’d worn a skirt instead of her customary jeans. She tried to reposition herself

more decently.

His hand shot over, lightning-fast, and grasped her leg.

“Let me go!” she squeaked, giggling, blushing, helplessly trapped.

“Not a chance, darlin’.” He bent sideways and smoothed his face over the soft

skin above her knee and then down to somewhere far too near her panties. Oh God… That

was…incredible. And way too personal. All the muscles in her thighs quivered, and she

groaned, alight with apprehension. How could he do something like that?

She heard his soft laugh of triumph.

“Rory!” She wriggled, trying to escape. Hopeless. Heard him inhale to sample her

scent. So embarrassing. Felt his mouth pressing kisses high on her thigh. Couldn’t see

because his head was under her rucked-up skirt.

She lay there, tangled and open to him, as his lips worked back in the direction of her

knee and he appeared again, hair rumpled, eyes so hot they practically smoked. With his free

hand he pushed at the denim. Alfie felt deserted as he drew back further.

“Not boring panties,” he drawled, flicking a glance down to her very tiny turquoise

lace thong and then back to her eyes.

Oh, could this get any worse? “No—I forgot…” she muttered, knowing she must be

scarlet in the face.

He glanced down again. “You put that on for me, darlin’?

“No…I don’t know…”

He grinned. “Definitely appreciated. You got any more like it?”

She squeezed her eyes closed and unkinked one leg. Rory kept a firm grip on the

other one.

“No. It…umm…went with my bridesmaid’s dress. The one I wore last night.”

He bent and kissed her knee again, sliding his mouth slowly down, keeping his eyes

on hers until her skirt concealed them. Then all she could do was imagine.

“But you didn’t have this on last night?” A low suggestive murmur from under the

fabric. His kisses progressed further south.

“No. Of course not. And I don’t know why I put it on today”. She gulped a fast

breath. “Maybe I just wanted to feel pretty…”

“You feeling pretty right now, honey?” He licked and sucked so close to the elastic

edge that Alfie’s hips hitched up in shock.

First there’s ‘Her Man with Iceberg Eyes’ – a novel set in the alpine resort of Queenstown, way in the south. Then there’s ‘Christmas Holiday Husband’ – which takes you to a sprawling back-country farm with its lovely old homestead and long family heritage.

Kris writes sizzling contemporary romances, and is the current membership secretary for Romance Writers of New Zealand. Six of her books are set at least partly in the capital city of Wellington so she can make use of the beautiful harbor in the plots. She’s called them her Wicked in Wellington series.

Kris has written all her life – from her autobiography at twelve, to her own special wedding service, to short stories published in mass-circulation magazines and broadcast on National Radio in New Zealand. She has a background as an advertising copywriter and a decor specialist.

During the past eight years she’s produced a selection of racy romantic novels, and publishing them on Amazon.com has been the ideal answer to share them with the world.

About A NUMBERS GAME:

Love is worth more than the sum of its hearts…

A-Numbers-Game-high-resCPA Merrit Callahan learned early not to let passion unravel her orderly life. Back in college she fell hard for a football player, only to be devastated when she discovered he’d been duping her all along—dared by his teammates to score with his bookish tutor. Now, after her back-stabbing fiancé breaks off their engagement, Merrit flees to Baltimore to escape the fallout.

After eight years in the pros, a series of concussions have forced Heath Gibson out of the NFL. The transition from player to coach for the Baltimore Blaze hasn’t been smooth, but finding himself face-to-face with Merrit Callahan makes the ride even rockier. He’s been filled with regret ever since a stupid team prank caused Merrit to run away from him a decade earlier.

Merrit’s stunned to reconnect with Heath. And despite the authenticity of his reignited feelings this time around, Merrit’s got her mind set on payback. She’ll give Heath a night he won’t forget and then walk away. But Heath’s hold on her heart—and the rest of her body—is difficult to break…

EXCERPT: “Invite me inside, Merrit.”
The heat in his demand coursed through her body making her ache at her core.
“I’ve changed my mind,” she whispered. “I don’t think that’s such a good idea.”
He was up on his feet in one fluid move, inches now separating their bodies. She could feel the tension radiating off him, pinning her to the wooden post. He traced a finger—still damp from where he’d held the beer bottle—along her jaw. Merrit swallowed a moan.
“Changed your mind about what, Merry?” His breath licked at her skin making her body quiver. “About hearing me out? Or about something else?”

unnamed-2Author Bio:
Author Tracy Solheim has written her share of best sellers and note-worthy books. Unfortunately most of them line the shelves of dusty government offices around the world never to see the light of day. She hopes to change that with her series of contemporary romantic fiction novels published by Berkley Books.

“I guess you could say I’m a frustrated sports writer at heart, but I love writing—and reading—books centered around sports. I can thank my dad for that. He introduced me to Dick Francis novels when I was a teenager and I was hooked. I am also a big fan of the happily ever after endings of romance novels, so it was only natural that I combined the two elements in my fiction debut.”
